Our Veterans have played a vital role in ensuring whatever peace our country has achieved over the years through their sacrifice. Community Connections, Inc. is grateful and has partnered up with local Veterans Homes in Baton Rouge, Monroe, and Shreveport to provide the Veterans with a personalized blanket and dog tags.
CCI also participates in certain scheduled activities for Veterans at the Veterans Home in these areas. CCI provides needed items to Homeless Veterans Transitional Living Programs from cleaning supplies, baskets, brooms, and mops, to care packages with toothbrushes, soap, towels etc. for the agency to distribute as needed.
Community Connections feels it is vital to give back to the community and help those who may have fallen on hard times. CCI has been making a difference in the lives of other since 2006.
CCI provides monthly food giveaways to the elderly and families. CCI conducts after school tutoring for students who are not meeting the academic standards, as well as offers a computer literacy program, and GED workshops for adults. CCI also provides backpacks filled with school supplies to students in need at the end of every summer before school begins.
The H.O.P.E. (Helping Others to Excel and Prosper) Closet is a unique program. The H.O.P.E. Closet is available to families, veterans and senior citizens on a fixed income who contact CCI.
The H.O.P.E. Closet will distribute food, diapers, and personal hygiene products (such as soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste and deodorant). Along with the basic necessities, The H.O.P.E. Closet will provide access to case management and mental health services.
